Baptist Health Unveils New ER and Urgent Care Center at Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

LOUISVILLE, KY (July 31, 2025) - Baptist Health, in partnership with Dallas-based Intuitive Health, officially cut the ribbon today on its newest combined emergency room and urgent care facility, improving access to lifesaving care for the community.

A group of officials cut the ribbon in a ceremony for a new facility

Located at 7702 Bardstown Road in Louisville, Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care Glenmary is an 11,400-square-foot facility offering both emergency and urgent care services under one roof with a dedicated ambulance entrance and on-site imaging, including CT, X-ray, ultrasound and EKG, along with laboratory services, available 24/7.

“This facility is a meaningful step forward for our community. By bringing essential services together in one place, we’re making care more accessible for the area and easing the burden on other facilities. Most importantly, it allows Baptist Health to provide an Urgent Care/ER hybrid that our neighbors can count on. We are always ready to care for you and your family, even in life’s most unexpected moments. Baptist Health Glenmary expands our reach and makes care more convenient for the community,” said Jonathan Velez, MD, President of Baptist Health Louisville.

The innovative combined ER and urgent care facility helps patients save money and time, while taking the guesswork and stress out of deciding where to go for care. Upon arrival, each patient is quickly evaluated by a board-certified, ER-trained doctor, who determines the appropriate level of care required.

“This partnership delivers a proven approach that simplifies patient decisions and improves access to the highest-level of care,” said Thom Herrmann, CEO of Intuitive Health. “Today’s ribbon cutting is a proud moment that reflects our shared commitment to patient-focused health care and making quality, efficient care more accessible to communities across Kentucky and beyond."

This expansion follows the successful launch of its first facility, Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care Jeffersonville in Jeffersonville, IN, in 2022, followed by Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care Blankenbaker in Louisville, KY, in 2023. Just last week, Baptist Health broke ground on its fifth facility, which will be located in Georgetown, KY.
